Enjoy the Beauty of New Hampshire Year-Round!
Broadview at Baboosic Lake

Now Accepting Reservations for Summer 2008!

                                                                                                          July 2005 - Ah, summer!

Nestled in the quaint, wooded shores of Baboosic Lake, this camp-gone-contemporary cottage is one of Southern New Hampshire’s best-kept secrets.  Broadview has been completely renovated and is ready for occupancy.  It features 2 bedrooms and a loft with spiral staircase, living room, large eat-in kitchen, full bath with tub and laundry, and a 3-season porch with spectacular lake views.  Accommodates 5-6 people.  No need to pack the car, you're ON the lake!

Perfectly located, an array of activities and sights are just a walk, short drive or day-trip away making Broadview a great get-away any time of year. Besides the view, its location is one of its best assets. Centrally located in southern New Hampshire, with only an hour drive to Boston, the seacoast, or the White Mountain National Forest, there is something here for everyone.

Located in Amherst, NH (founded in 1728), Baboosic Lake is a 222-acre waterway.  Bring your canoe or kayak, and fishing pole!  The lake boasts large mouth bass, yellow perch, pickerel, hornpout, and plenty of sunfish (which the children can catch rather easily). Adjacent to Broadview, is the Amherst Town Beach facility, with a large sandy beach, lifeguards (in season), grassy picnic area, and BBQ pits, complete with snack bar and restroom facilities.

Amherst is a historical town with a classic New England village green area, with many 200 year old homes. Be sure to visit the Library and Congregational Church. Click on this link for a picture tour of the village:                                                                    http://torborg.com/amherst/p_downtown_tour.html

In Amherst alone there are four public golf courses: Amherst Country Club (18 hole), Buckmeadow (9 hole), Ponemah Green (Scottish golf links), and our newest, award-winning Souhegan Woods (18 hole).

Antiquing is abundant in the entire area, with Rt. 101A being a local Mecca for antique connoisseurs and browsers alike.  On Sundays, one of the region’s largest open-air flea markets is only a few minutes drive. Also, on the last Saturday of the month through the summer, a special antique auto “flea-market” has vendors from all over New England.  There is an abundance of shopping with 3 malls, numerous grocery stores (including a Wal-Mart Super center) and many small cafés, bakeries, seafood and fine dining restaurants, and many specialty shops.  A short ride through town, is the Milford Oval. Two-time winner of the Main Street of America Award, Milford is abundant with shopping, antiques, diners, restaurants and pubs, and makes a great visit anytime.

The Anheuser-Busch Brewery, in next-door Merrimack, has one of only two of the famous Clydesdale hitches.  They have free daily tours, and is a mere 15 minute drive.

SUMMER is in-season here on the lake, but you can also jaunt 45 minutes east to New Hampshire’s Atlantic coastline to Hampton or Rye Beach. Or travel just a few miles north, and Maine awaits you with their numerous beaches (York, Wells, Kennebunk), the Kittery Trading Post, LL Bean and famous outlet shops. Anywhere in the area, you can find the freshest seafood.

AUTUMN Broadview is a short drive to the Monadnock Mountain Region, Keene and Brattleboro, VT for some of the best foliage “leaf-peeping” in the world.  Monadnock Mountain has many hiking trails, and its little brother, Pack Monadnock has an auto road for those of you who like to spend their energy on the view.  For hunting enthusiasts, the surrounding area inhabits Boone and Crocket deer.

WINTER Downhill skiing is as close as 40 minutes to Crotched Mountain Ski Area, in picturesque Francestown, NH. A 20 minute drive to Interstate 93, also known as “Ski 93” where there are too many mountains to mention (ok, here’s a few:  Waterville Valley, Gunstock, Cannon Mountain, Bretton Woods).

January-February are popular times   to visit, as conditions on Baboosic Lake are usually ripe for cross-country skiing, ice skating, snowmobiling, snow-shoeing and ice-fishing.  A mile or so up the street is Bragdon’s Hill, a public sledding hill that is a blast for you thrill riders!

Getting to Broadview is easy;  only 20 minutes from Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT), an hour from Logan Airport (BOS), and easily accessible from Interstate 93 and Route 101.
